It's Private William Henry Smart; Private, 2021 East Riding Yeomanry, enlisted 8th May 1915, subsequently being transferred to East Yorks Regt c.1916. From there he was posted to the 2nd & 3rd Bns East Surrey Regt. Invalided to England from Salonika with Malaria, he was transferred to 13th Bn East Surreys and then onto 11th Bn Royal Sussex Regt. Discharged 30th Sept 1919. Photo from the Wartime Memories Project and service records available via FMP / Ancestry. This dates the photo to mid 1915 to early 1916; I would suggest the former, possibly from around the time he enlisted.
