Sav Posted 18 April , 2020 Author Share Posted 18 April , 2020 Hello Barry, Yes that's a copy of a photo, in my possession., of John Hindle taken in 1921 aged 22. The tree you saw is probably one of my cousins to whom I sent copies. I'm currently not a member of Ancestry ATM. I join Findmypast occasionally a month at a time, but have been a member of Ancestry in the past.
The Inspector Posted 18 April , 2020 Share Posted 18 April , 2020 (edited) Hi Ken, I don't think there is any need to keep searching regarding the identity of the individual in the two photos. As far as I am concerned there is sufficient evidence "beyond all reasonable doubt". Having looked at the relationship between John Sweet ( service record 9977 2/4th RWF on Ancestry and Pension ledger) and the Makin family, he married Tom Pickering's wife's sister and Tom's brother Robert and sister Meretta were witnesses at the wedding; then how much more is needed? The existence of the photos within the family is easily explained. In all probability Tom Pickering would have been a guest at the wedding, any more photos? Check this out...https://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/sse.dll?dbid=70845&h=1006664&indiv=try&o_vc=Record:OtherRecord&rhSource=61596e Regards to all.
