RobertBr Posted 28 May , 2023 Share Posted 28 May , 2023 On todays show Mark Smith valued a set of Medals and Memorial Plaque of Sgt Charles Alfred Cox of the 93rd Field Coy RE, 17th Northern Division. He went on to say that the award of the DCM was for his actions at Passchendaele on 30th June 1917. This statement was based on the original citation provided by his Great Niece(?) . The citation also states that the action took place near the Roux Chemical Works, which I associate with Arras. A quick check confirmed that the 93rd were indeed at Arras on 30th June; they later moved to Ypres. I expect a researcher made an assumption as technically Arras was over. Bob Image grabbed from BBC IPlayer.
