When the rescuers broke through, Sapper Bedson reportedly said "That was a long shift".

It's mentioned in the WD of 250 TC 11/06/1916. Enemy mine (there were two on that day) imprisoned twelve men working at the face.

Yes the bottom one is too. His brother my great great grandad also lived at Tickhill Square Denaby

If you take a subscription to The British Newspaper Archive ( you can do it through Findmypast) there are dozens of references to the Bedson family from 1906 upto 1959 in  The South Yorkshire Times.
