Acknown Posted 10 December , 2019 Share Posted 10 December , 2019 (edited) Here's a photo of AA1294 Arthur Henry Foyster RNVR who joined in Dec 14, whilst in his 40s, and served on HMS President throughout 1915 until he took up a job as an ammunition inspector. His record of service and Medal Roll (Ancestry) entries describe his rank as A.B. but his uniform seems rather smart. Can anyone identify it and indicate what he might have been doing there? Thanks. Acknown Posted 10 December , 2019 Author Share Posted 10 December , 2019 (edited) Very many thanks both of you. It didn't occur to me that AA was anti-aircraft. Is there any way I could find out what he actually did in 1915 (training, detachments, locations, activity etc.)? horatio2 Posted 10 December , 2019 Share Posted 10 December , 2019 As far as I am aware, such details at an individual level have not survived.
Acknown Posted 10 December , 2019 Author Share Posted 10 December , 2019 Thanks again. I just wondered if he was only in training or if they actually deployed to AA gun sites. I suspect the latter and that President was just a holding unit. Acknown
