The >< (SOS) mark on your WA marked 1908 Enfield (issued in July 1910) would appear to have been stamped in Britain prior to dispatching to Australia.

It's the same single >< stamp, and not two seperate arrow stamps, as seen on the early bayonets sent out to Australia.

I'm not a rifle collector so cannot compare examples, but according to the paper trail, it certainly seems to be the correct period stamp.

Hey mate, the SOS I was referring to was the one with actual ‘S’ on the SOS mark.

Oh ok, you didn't provide a pic of it so I assumed it was the one in the pic
