seaJane Posted 31 January , 2018 Share Posted 31 January , 2018 Ralph, I've managed to delete the last image (ending 217) by accident - any chance you can send it again? Happy to upload pics of the menu itself too - I see it began with tomato soup!
gmac101 Posted 31 January , 2018 Share Posted 31 January , 2018 Micmac is the name that was used in the past for the First Nation tribes that lived in what is now Nova Scotia and New Brunswick provinces of Canada

Admin DavidOwen Posted 1 February , 2018 Admin Share Posted 1 February , 2018 There's an AE Chamberlain listed on the IWM Lives site that was a private in the Royal Warwickshires commissioned to 2nd Lieutenant in the same regiment - service number 742. Not necessarily that AE Chamberlain though Are there any more details re where, when the menu might have been signed? Are any of the signatures already identified? seaJane Posted 1 February , 2018 Share Posted 1 February , 2018 In the interests of accuracy I should say that I put Ralph's images through the demist filter on my phone. 30 January 1918 was a Wednesday; but I can't find what anniversary might have been happening. Something about MicMac camp (Canadian?) here: http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/topic/734-f-huts/

Admin DavidOwen Posted 2 February , 2018 Admin Share Posted 2 February , 2018 At the top of the front there appears to be a "dedication" to a Lt (name unclear) on his embarkation for England. I can't enlarge the frame large enough to decipher it clearly but if anyone can that may be a major clue?

keithfazzani Posted 2 February , 2018 Share Posted 2 February , 2018 The faded bit says - "Dinner to Lt Bagley on leaving the battalion for England". I am very surprised, having seen similar menus before that there is no mention of Regiment and battalion, there usually is.

Not necessarily that AE Chamberlain though Following on from this there is also a Second Lieutenant Cecil Gordon Bagley listed for the Royal Warwickshire Regiment - service number 515. He too had been a private subsequently commissioned. Too much of a coincidence?
