miniature medals

Dear bif,

I had a long-time famous medal-mounter whose standards latterly fell, so I therefore changed to another (found on the Internet). Then he went out of business, forcing me to find another, which I did: perhaps the best of all (a husband and wife team on the Isle of Wight). Then she retired, just as I was about to send her three or four more groups!

Finally, I tried a well-known dealer and - after sending back the first group and telling them to do it again in such-and-such a way - was very satisfied. I will give you his details via a Message, okay?

I have a miniature IGS ‘08 with two bars, Malabar 1921-22 and North West Frontier 1935. I will see if I can find a NWF 1908 bar.

Thank you very much. Looking forward to discuss WW1, a conflict of great interest next to the Victorian/Edwardian and Napoleonic era conflicts, another great interest of mine. 

 

I collect miniatures, I only sell if I have duplicates, unfortunately I only have two different IGS 1908 minis and they are not for sale just now. 

 

I can however point you in the direction as to where you might be able to get one. Please pm me and let me know how much you are able/willing to pay. Then I will do my utmost to help. I have many connections when it comes to mini replicas.

Here is an example of a named miniature medal to 310334 Sergt R.TOZER, Warwickshire Yeomanry  which is part of a named group of 5 miniatures from my private collection. TOZER was the Signal Sergt.

 

Other un-named attributable Warwickshire Yeomanry miniature groups can be viewed in the Warwickshire  Yeomanry Museum, Warwick

Very nice group. 

 

Mine are replicas, but nevertheless, here they are (Im waiting for a miniature Legion d Honneur, French Croix de Guerre avec palm and a Belgian Croix de Guerre. I will add them later).

 

The decorations and medals:

 

Army+Navy VC, DSO, MC, DFC*, DCM, MM, Sea Gallantry, Allied Subjects medal, Medal of St George (Russia), Mons star, 1914/15 star, War medal, Victory medal with MiD, Gallipoli Star, Territorial Force medal, Merchant Marine medal, Long Service and Good conduct medal, Meritorious Service medal. 

 

The orders: 

 

CB, CMG, Order of the Indian Empire, Indian Order of Merit, Order of British India, Order of St John, OBE. 

 

The two Navy medals are GVI/WW2, but I am getting them in WW1 versions. 

 

I also added my orders.
