I have four Close relatives who were in the great war.re my signature,

Which includes along with the usual 3 great war medals for each of them, a SWB a MM and a MID..... Sadly I haven't got one to cherish. But you never know ,maybe some day one of them might turn up

Good luck.

All the best

Cam.

A couple of weeks ago I was amazed to see the death plaque for Thomas Alfred Morse on e**y. Even more amazed that I got it for a reasonable price.

Not a close relative - Gt Gt Grandfather Morse's brothers son! but a Morse.

He was wounded in Boer War and killed in 1915.

My Grandfather pawned his MM group in the depression of the 1920's & was never able to redeem them. In 2010 I placed details in Medal News 'Medal Tracker' page & believe it or not a collector got in touch! He had 3 of the 4 (inc MM) in his collection brought about 15 years previously from a auction. He kindly agreed to part with them so after 90 years my Grandads medals came home!

Never give up looking!!

Hi Mark,

Thats fantastic news for you.

It does show that a lot of our relatives medals are out there somewhere.

Not only did I get Thomas Alfred Morse's penny but found out he is commemorated on the same memorial as Chavasse VC and bar. I trust the Chavasse family are honoured to be in such illustrious company :D

Here's one just happened this week, I purchased a pair and plaque 6 months ago to 1st leicesters and during my research I found this mans widow remarried and moved her new chap into the same house, her new hubby I found was also 1st leicesters and was taken pow in sept 1914 and repatriated 4 years and 64 days later, he was awarded the 14 trio with clasp and roses!!!

Well this set only turned up on eBay this week which of course I purchased.

These must have spent time together and turned up at the same time at the same house, well now back together to stay.

Some things are meant to be, never stop looking

Thats the way to do it.........it gives one a certain satisfaction to get related sets together.

Well done!
