battiscombe Posted 23 April , 2020 Share Posted 23 April , 2020 (edited) I have a note that James Adamson was in 1st Battery 45th Brigade; i think the information came from a record of him being hospitalised in Dec 1915.. They arrived in France around 6th November 1914 at le Havre.. The unit was largely re-formed in 1914 by pre-war reservists + some new recruits. I expect the India photo relates to prewar service - enlisting c.1909? Edited 24 April , 2020 by battiscombe correction
BJAdamson Posted 24 April , 2020 Share Posted 24 April , 2020 Thanks so much for that - I thought he'd been in India before WWI. He's wearing a pith helmet in it but the quality has really suffered over the years. I have a photo of him in a camp (see attached) and if he is the chap back left, then he's wearing the ribbons I have right here, so that places the photo between 1918 and 1923?
