I have a few 9th Bn Sherwood Forester medals, not really as a collector but as part of my research into the battalion over the past 10 years. Hopefully I will pass them on to the 'Kid' but if she decideds that the money would come in handy and 'Gallipoli' medals have a premium, then she should flog 'em. There was no sentiment when the family go rid of them, so why should we show any in trying to make a few bob. Personal stuff to our family will be looked after and passed on.

I technically broke up some medals last year! Well I wanted the 9th Bn chaps WW1 medals and they came with a set of his sons WW2 medals plus a 'nazi' 4 year service medal (german army service but it has a swastika on it) , N&D cap badge and SWB. The WW2 set I sold and the 'Nazi' medal will be sold but the WW1 set and the cap badge I kept. The sale I made went a long way to offset the cost of the WW1 set. Some might say that this 'collection' should be kept together.
