FROGSMILE Posted 12 October , 2011 Share Posted 12 October , 2011 It seems possible that the sapper in the OP was an RE Volunteer from the unit that later became No 1 (Dover) Electric Light Company of the Cinque Ports Fortress Royal Engineers, 16 Bench Street, Dover, Kent.
