River97 Posted 31 December , 2010 Share Posted 31 December , 2010 Here is a brief history of the 22nd Division that your relative served in. link here Are you able to provide any details of your relative? It may sound like a long shot, but if his service records have survived they should be able to show a great deal of info on the time period. I have also provided a link to the members of this forum who hold war diaries for various units. You could marry up the two links to see if there are any around. From there just send the members a PM for the period you are after and this should fill a few more gaps. link here As the battle was fought in the Salonika Theatre, there are some experts on this region who should be along in the not too distant future. Cheers Andy.
akduerden Posted 18 January , 2011 Share Posted 18 January , 2011 There is a town of this name on the left flank near the Vadar River so I guess this is where the battle took place. The Bulgarian trenches were north of the the town on the slopes of the Grand Mamelon. PM me your email address and I will send you image of map.
