Thanks Nige...thats what I thought however 6 N N ?

I have cleaned the rest this afternoon and have loads to search. I have stacks of service number and rank only details.....

I also have a load of no hopers either which is sad but inevitable.

Could you upload Talbots marker here as reference?

I believe these pouches were not introduced till 1917? If so post Somme 1916 battle?

Any knowledge?

TT,

On the marker which has the date on it is it possible that the strip has broken immediately before the number 6?

I ask because using Geoff's Search Engine I cannot get a match on any Canadians at Regina Trench, nor any Australians at Courcellette for 06/09/1916.

There are many Canadians who died on 26/09/1916 in Regina Trench though.
