Paddy 60th Posted 27 February , 2010 Share Posted 27 February , 2010 PS Forgot to add, in the photo of the C8 guys, I love the pile of obviously brand new shrapnel helmets at the tent opening. Note the protective paper pieces between each one. I'm sure this would help to date the photo. When was this unit first issued with steel helmets? Tocemma If it's of any relevance, my Grandfathers unit, the 60th batt. Canadian Infantry, were issued with their first Brodies on 19th April 1916 when in Belgium. Info from their war diary.
