Here is another cap for your viewing pleasure: a 1918 RAF other ranks visor, almost a hybrid of a Royal Navy cap and a khaki Army cap. Note the broad-arrow and War Department stampings.

PS Forgot to add, in the photo of the C8 guys, I love the pile of obviously brand new shrapnel helmets at the tent opening. Note the protective paper pieces between each one. I'm sure this would help to date the photo. When was this unit first issued with steel helmets?

If it's of any relevance, my Grandfathers unit, the 60th batt. Canadian Infantry, were issued with their first Brodies on 19th April 1916 when in Belgium. Info from their war diary.
