Tom,

The article is by Charles Douie and is about his experiences at Thiepval. There is no mention of the Battalion involved, just the Dorset Regiment.

Tom,

Don't think it can be the 6th, if memory serves me correctly I do not think they were at Thiepval.

Tim,

No articles but a few pictures of Lancashire Fusiliers.

Andy

Thanks Andy,

Any 9th or 1/5th Bn? My grandfather was on the Regimental Transport.

Gloria,

The only thing I can find on the 7 th Northants is a picture of them in Camp at Dickebusch and a bit about them at Loos.

(...)

Forgot to add there is nothing concerning the 4th Bedfords there.

Andy

Andy,

Thank you very much for looking for those units. Re the 7 th Northants I was interested in a later period of the war, but I take note and I'll see if there is a mention of Dickebush in the late war diaries.

Thanks again :)

Gloria

An interesting index in the last issue is a list of soldiers in photographs named by readers, a lot of the photographs named are by the old soldiers themselves. I will post a list shortly to see if any of them are of interest to any of the forum members.

Andy, you certainly have been busy lately! I wonder if you could scan a couple of things for me from vol.1 if you get a moment.

pp498-503: The Suvla Landings by Compton Mackenzie

pp442-5: Admiral Sir Reginald Hall and von Rintelen+Then and Now by Hall.

I have vol 2 & 3, but not 1 where all the good stuff seems to be.

Anything I can do for you? I will be at the TNA soon.

Many thanks,

Bruce
