Hi everyone

I have read the book so dont send it to me.

I just wanted to say if anyone has not, then they should get it.

Excellent and shows some of what they had to go through.

Robert

I have just started 'Somme Mud' (an Australian edition bought in a second-hand bookshop in Paris, so these things do get around) and would love to read the sequel. From Kev's list it seems to be in Canada at the moment, or is it? Will whoever has it or due to have it next please put their hand up?

Received the book today....thanks Andy

I believe Ozzie is next after me?

If Ozzie would like to PM his address to me, I shall forward the book on once I have finished it (probably in a couple of weeks time).

Don't forget to sign it, and add a book-mark.

By the time half the Pals have read it, there should be more book-marks than pages!

Ozzie has been missing in action from the 3rd October, can I suggest if you don't get a reply to your pm within a week try again and if nothing comes up a week after that then send it to the next on the list after Ms Ozzie,

Kevin

Hi Kev

Could you put my name on the list, this is a great idea. I've read Somme Mud, couldn't put it down, so hoping this is as good

Just by way of update, I shall wait until the weekend for Ozzie to get back to me and if nothing is heard by then I intend to pass the book onto the next pal on the list who I think is 'Everclay'.

At the worst, Ozzie might drop down a slot or two.

Everclay, could you PM your mailing address please as you are on standby.

Thanks

David

Nothing heard from Ozzie, so the book is on it's way to Martin Bennitt.

The book went in the post today (7th Nov) - enjoy it Martin.

Cheers

Family served with 45th Bn AIF during WW1. George and Albert Barnes 13th/45th Bn. Have read both books and found it a great insight into their experinces. George, great grandfather went through every battle with the 45th, survived the war, married an English lady and returned home in 1919 never to talk about his experineces. His brother Albert DOW in 1917 (GSW pentrating forehead and left forearm). I have often looked at the photos (eg., Garter Point, Ypres Sector, Sep 1917, Somme Mud) in these books and wondered if Albert or George are looking back at me.

Book read, enjoyed, despite a few factual errors, and posted off today to Doug Lewis, with new signature and bookmark added.

Hope its wanderings don't stop there
