I think that is the only one available.

My copy works fine BUT there are very few burials listed for post 1900. Practically useless for our interest area.

Griffin can't be the copper - Police Museum tells me he rejoined in 1919 and served with the City Police until 1923. Big bu&&er, as well - all 6' 11" of him. A veritable giant of those times.

Not sure why you were trying to find more details on Thomas Griffin was this for his grave site or have I miss read postings?

I'd be interested, since it may be a distant rellie (via marriage),

Pte Arthur Horton, born Manchester, enlisted Ashton-u-Lyne.

There is a burial record, Manchester General Cemetery 5 days after his date of death. Grave 5281.

Looks like the parents are buried there also (John and Priscilla) - also found these 3 on 1901 census.

Could be our chap.

Does anyone know if Geoff ever established whether Arthur Horton was indeed his relative by marriage, and, if so, whether he realised that Arthur Horton was a conscientious objector, dying in prison during his third sentence for refusing to kill? A belated Debt of Honour owed to him, indeed
