His record is available in the WO97 series at Kew and on FMP, a quick resume of which shows he: 10.08.96 Attested and Posted to Depot with service number 5258. 12.08.96 Joined at Oxford. 24.11.96 Posted to 1st Battalion OLI. 08.09.98 Posted to 2nd Battalion OLI. 24.11.03 Transferred to Army Reserve Section B 09.08.08 Discharged on Termination of 2nd Period of Engagement. He served: Home 10.08.96 to 07.09.98 India 08.09.98 to 23.10.03 Home 24.10.03 to 09.08.08 He gave his age as 18 when he attested. Just thought I'd point out his service no. went from 69 to 291381 (not 281934 - this is the service no. for another Albert Edward Harris in the RGA) I expect you know it then went to 494886 when he transferred to the Labour Corps.
