An unidentified hospital ship.

It's got big crosses on it so probably German . . . :D

Might be worth trying "ships and navies" since none of the wet bobs seem to be reading this.

Inspection. 26th October 1922. "The squadron was visited by Lt Gen Sir Charles H. Harrington K.C.B. D.S.O. and Group Captain Fellowes D.S.O. Letters of appreciation and congratulation from both the G.O.C and the Group Captain were received by the squadron for it's "workmanlike appearance" and "the efficient and expeditious way" in which the machines were erected and brought into action".

High Wood

The aeroplane's serial appears to begin with "F.24", which indicates a Sopwith 7F.1 Snipe built in the batch F2333 to F2532. A flight of Snipes from No 56 Sqn RAF was sent to Turkey in September 1922, followed by the Snipes of No 25 Sqn, who arrived at San Stephano on 11 October 1922 and remained in the country until 22 September the following year.

I hope this is useful.

That is quite enough culture, here is a warship.

I have only just found this thread.

Post #77 photo's are of the Destroyer USS McCormick.

Here is a link to a page which has a photo from the same period:

DD 223

I'm pretty sure that the second building in post 122 is the Ayasofya Museum.
