bydand forever Posted 3 June , 2008 Share Posted 3 June , 2008 I have several letters written by Sister A Gibb she wrote to my gt grandmother giving news about Pte William McLennan her son, who Died of Wounds 2-7-1916. I'd love to hear more about such a caring kind-hearted person who somehow found time to write such lovely letters to the family. If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be very grateful. For anyone who is related to Sister Gibb I would happily send copies of the letters. Anne
Sue Light Posted 3 June , 2008 Share Posted 3 June , 2008 Anne The Catalogue at The National Archives shows only one A. Gibb, who is Ann Gibb, a member of the QAIMNS Reserve - if the name is definitely without a final 's' then this is probably her. She has a file ref: WO399/3064. I think it likely (but not positive) that she is a Scot, who trained at Kilmarnock Infirmary between 1901 and 1904. Sue
