The Pegasus Gun - Mombassa

Hi

Going through some snaps I took in Mombassa last year and thought that the pals may find the attached photos of interest. The gun is outside Fort Jesus. As the name board is unclear I quote " The Pegasus Gun HMS Pegasus a 2000 ton British Cruiser was undergoing boiler repair in Zanzibar on 20th September 1914 when the German Cruiser Koenigsberg sank the ship at its moorings. The eight 4" Guns were salvaged mounted on wheels and used as a coastal defence batteries in Zanzibar and Mombasa."
