Adam Llewellyn Posted 19 May , 2008 Share Posted 19 May , 2008 Good Evening All, L/Sgt. Edward Leonard Cottrell 1/4th Leics. Edwards service number is down as N.R.12 on SDGW. Could some pal please explain what the N. R. might stand for and why this number is very different to the other numbers that i have so far listed for the Leicestershire Regiment. Regards. Llew. shred Posted 19 May , 2008 Share Posted 19 May , 2008 Hi Llew, Don't know if this helps? MIC indicates "12" nothing more. Regards, Garry
apwright Posted 20 May , 2008 Share Posted 20 May , 2008 In GRO War Deaths Army Other Ranks, p 798, his number is given as W.R.12. By the way, he is listed there as COTTERILL, Leonard E., which is wrong according to everything else! Adrian

Adam Llewellyn Posted 20 May , 2008 Author Share Posted 20 May , 2008 Thanks Adrian. The SDGW Leicestershire Regiment Part 22 booklet and the CD have N. R., so not to sure what to think. Would anyone else like to comment? Llew.
