Good Evening All,

L/Sgt. Edward Leonard Cottrell 1/4th Leics. Edwards service number is down as N.R.12 on SDGW. Could some pal please explain what the N. R. might stand for and why this number is very different to the other numbers that i have so far listed for the Leicestershire Regiment.

Regards. Llew.

In GRO War Deaths Army Other Ranks, p 798, his number is given as W.R.12.

By the way, he is listed there as COTTERILL, Leonard E., which is wrong according to everything else!

Cheers Garry. I'm just thinking now if NR could stand for just number or would that be to easy?

Thanks Adrian. The SDGW Leicestershire Regiment Part 22 booklet and the CD have N. R., so not to sure what to think. Would anyone else like to comment?

Llew.
