Remembered Today:

German Fuse - what size of shell?

Hi folks

I recently picked up a German shell fuse and was wondering what size of shell it would have been on. It's stamped on the side

H.Z. 140

AEG 15 (does the 15 refer to 1915?)

690

and underneath

185

and either an H or a W (can't quite make it out)

Thanks for your help

Andy

HI,

this a Haubitz Zuender mod 14

The (o) after 14 indicates an improved primer

The fuze was used in shells for 10,5 cm howitzers.
