My great grandfather first saw active service in Scottish Rifles post May 25, 1916. At some stage after that, he became part of the Oxford & Buckinghamshire Light Infantry until the end of 1917 when he was gassed and returned to Southampton.

Does anyone have any information on SR divisions who were folded into OBLI in the second half of 1916 or early 1917?

I can't seem to find much specific detail on this.

Look forward to hearing from anyone who can help.

Regards

Mishka.

Evening Mishka.

What Battalion was your fella in Mishka? The 2nd Battallion fought along side the 24th Bn R/Fusiliers,

2nd Bn Highland Light Infantry in 1916 up until 1918.

There is ample information on The Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire Light Infantry. Try searching for "Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire Light Infantry Museum" OR "Soldiers of Oxfordshire Trust" and follow the links. You could also try telephoning the Museum, at Slade Park Barracks, on any Thursday between 10.00 am and 15.00 pm - there should be a volunteer researcher on hand.
