JohnBelcher Posted 14 May , 2008 Share Posted 14 May , 2008 The details on L/Cpl Webb have already been posted on the following links here James Webb 1 and James Webb 2 Terry Thanks for your help in submitting his name and the others on the 2 links for giving extra details. From an "In memorium" column his widow posted In loving memory of L/Cpl Webb who was Killed in action in action in the battle of Mons August 24th 1914. Sleep on dear brother in a far off land In a grave I may never see. But as long as life and memory last, I will remember thee. Every remembered by his loving Sisters, Mary and Edith also by Father and Mother. Frogwell Farm, Chippenham Wilts Times 24 August 1918 Very prophetically, Mrs Webb, would never be able to see a grave nor know that his name was not recorded. Hopefully now some relatives may, in time, see his name inscribed on the La Ferte-sous-Jouarre Memorial. May he RIP where ever he lies.
