A couple of interesting purchases this month, a small book of letters by Philip Anthony Brown to his mother from france 26/8/15----3/11/15 he served in the 13th battalion DLI

Also a set of the Kings Royal Rifle Chronicles for 1915,16,17,18 these are highly detailed giving a great deal of information,honours and awards etc [the regimental history for the great war is vitually unobtainable in it`s original printing}

In the chronicles is there a mention of the following:

Second Lieutenant Peter Gordon

Date of death – 24th August 1918

Service – 9th Battalion attached 18th Battalion Kings Royal Rifles

Secondary Service - 4th Battalion Cameron Highlanders

Service no. – n/a

Place of burial – Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Belgium grave XXV A 24

Aged 21 at date of death. Son of John and Margaret McG. Gordon, Chappanhall, Nairn.

Soldiers Died in the Great War have him recorded as a Temp Lieutenant in the 12th Battalion KRR.

The only mention i can find is that he died on the 9/9/18??
