lucanor1 Posted 23 April , 2008 Share Posted 23 April , 2008 The 2nd Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, which my grandfather, 2936 Pte Joe Upton, belonged to, were in Salonica from 1915 to 1917, I believe. Can anyone help me with information on what they did there? Many thanks MarieE
Jarvis Posted 24 April , 2008 Share Posted 24 April , 2008 Hello MarieE, try this link http://memorabilia.homestead.com/files/Sal...nia_1916_18.htm and scroll down the 28th Division. the 2nd NF were part of the 84th Brigade and if you scroll down a bit further there is a page or so on the activities of the 28th Division in this area. Regards. Jarvis.
barry1 Posted 15 February , 2010 Share Posted 15 February , 2010 great bit of info Javis, my great grandad 2nd NF was wounded and dis-charged in nov 1915 I'm guessing in the last action the 2nd saw in France? but its great to see where he would have gone had he not had his toes blown off.
