My understanding is that there was only one Australian submarine operating in the Dardanelles, the AE2 commanded by Stoker, and it is still lying on the floor of the Sea of Marmara. The decision to raise it is yet to be made. The other Australian submarine was AE1 lost off New Britain in 1914 and still not located.

Links here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AE2 and here http://www.submarineinstitute.com/?doc=41 and here http://www.navy.gov.au/spc/history/ships/ae2.html

I think that the conning tower at the Fremantle Maritime Museum is a reproduction.

Cheers

Chris

Bug*er, sorry guys.

The heading is the name of the program, and yes, the ABC.

Brain is missing today, shall go look for it! ;)
