I have not managed to find a DC ref so any help would be appreciated

Chris, I think I have found him, but it looks like the Times has his name mixed up a bit..or missed the W out.

His details are below, you will notice that his death was Registered at Guildford, which is not to far from Woking.

I can't find him on the CWGC, so it looks like you have probably found another...well done if the case.

Darlington Borough Council have today sent me an e mail confirming that Captain Rogerson is buried West Cemetery, Darlington. They even sent photos of the grave along with a transcription of the epitaph on the gravestone - marvellous service considering they replied in 48 hours.
