historydavid Posted 18 April , 2008 Share Posted 18 April , 2008 Chris, this is his Admiralty death record: HIGHTON, FRANCIS W., ENGINEER CAPTAIN, R.N., 28-Sep-14, UK. Note that he is shown as unassigned, maybe "he was on the beach," ie not employed. This would account for none commeroration. Best wishes David
chrisharley9 Posted 18 April , 2008 Author Share Posted 18 April , 2008 David does that mean he was retired or just between postings Chris
historydavid Posted 18 April , 2008 Share Posted 18 April , 2008 Chris, with the little info you have it is impossible to be sure. The obit. doesn't give age and states heart disease, so personally I favour retirement (or possibly long term sick as a long shot). Best wishes David
