Wonder if anyone can help me with any details of this chap - Im unable to find him on CWGC - it looks like he was on the strength of HMS President serving with the Engineers in Chief Dept - my thanks in advance

Hello Chris

His death details on Ancestry are, Age 53, District Wandsworth, Vol. 1d, page 649. 3rd Quarter, 1914.

Hi Chris as John found i found this on free bmd

Deaths Sep 1914 (>99%) Hocken William T 53 Wandsworth 1d649,

before 1965 the county was surrey after 1965 the county was wandsworth as here stated

transferred from SRY in 1889 / after 1965 see Wandsworth (GTL); Lambeth (GTL) (in Lambeth district)

The death notice from The Times, 3 September 1914, has him dying at 5 Rydal Road, Streatham, S.W. at the age of 53 on the 28 August. No other details.
