Hett65 Posted 15 April , 2008 Share Posted 15 April , 2008 Pte 3524 Thomas Henry Nugent, 1st Battalion, Irish Guards was KIA 1.11.1914. He was living in Blaydon, Tyne & Wear when he was recalled to the colours and is not on the Blaydon War Memorial. His family lived at Kesh, Co Fermanangh and I was hoping a member could check to see if he is on their War Memorial and if so take a photograph of the memorial and his name. I have tried to find the memorial on the web without success. Thanks, John.
tommy mcclimonds Posted 15 April , 2008 Share Posted 15 April , 2008 Jon Speaking as a County Down man myself as far as I know Kesh, Co Fermanagh, does not have a Town War Memorial. This would appear to be your man listed on the Enniskillen memorial, see link below, I hope. http://www.ulsterwarmemorials.net/html/county_fermanagh.html Regards, Tommy. Hett65 Posted 16 April , 2008 Author Share Posted 16 April , 2008 Tommy Thanks for the information, this does appear to be my man. This is a general request to any member living near this memorial, could they please obtain a photograph of the memorial and Nugents name for my records. Thanks John
tommy mcclimonds Posted 16 April , 2008 Share Posted 16 April , 2008 John I am not sure if there would be anyone on the forum from Fermanagh. I am in Enniskillen quite regularly, in fact was there last Wednesday for the book launch of "The Corporal and the Celestials - In north China with the 1st Battalion, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, 1909-1912." If no one closer comes foward in the next few weeks I should be back down there by then and will take the photographs you require myself. Regards, Tommy. Hett65 Posted 19 April , 2008 Author Share Posted 19 April , 2008 Tommy Sorry did not get back sooner, I had a total crash on my computer and it has been in the 'sick bay' since Thursday, just got it back. I would really appreciate the photographs if you have time when you are next in Enniskillen. Thanks John

tommy mcclimonds Posted 15 May , 2008 Share Posted 15 May , 2008 John Just in case you think I have forgotten about this, well I haven't. I should have something for you next week, unfortunately work and life keeps interferring with the more important WWI stuff. Regards, Tommy. drumberny Posted 6 June , 2010 Share Posted 6 June , 2010 I came upon your entry regarding Private Thomas Henry Nugent, Irish Guards whose name is on Enniskillen War Memorial. I am a volunteer at Inniskilling Regimental Museum here in Enniskillen and I am currently researching the names on our war memorial. I have not yet started on Private Nugent and I wonder if you could assist me with any information you have about him. I gather you have been forwarded your photos of the memorial but if there is anything else I can assist with from this end please ask. Regards Clive.
