One of the locations, which I can't find is "Pheasant Trench" I believe its near Poelcappelle next to Eagle Trench. I have found this on a Map but is "Peasant" north or south of Eagle and i think its near "Peasant farm" but I can't find a thing. does anyone have any info or better still a map. Thanks for your help.

ianshuter Posted 13 December , 2022 Share Posted 13 December , 2022 Thank you, 14 years later I wanted to locate Pheasant Trench as Capt Cecil Thomas Coyne was killed in the attempt to capture it by the 9th Bn West Yorkshire Regiment on 27th August 1917. Howard Posted 14 December , 2022 Share Posted 14 December , 2022 Have a look at TrenchMapper. If you right click and choose Map ID Jump with ID=m_026898, it will centre on Pheasant Trench on a map dated 6th Auguist 1917, just 3 weeks before Cecil died. There are numerous other maps, you may find one with a closer date but sadly, not every map bears a date. Howard
