to all ladies and gents,

i would appreciate if anyone can tell me were the royal flying corps were based in france during world war one. were they based in the same place as the americans who were in the french airforce.

Units of the Royal Flying Corps were based all over France in WWI, there were over 100 aeroplane squadrons and various other units such as kite balloons. Are you after something specific?

I suspect you are thinking of the Lafayette escadrille that had American volunteers in it. There were also some American volunteers scattered around the the RFC squadrons. Some of these pilots transfered to the American forces after the US entered the war (as did most of the volunteers in the French forces) but some stayed in the RFC
