pisumcorporum Posted 1 April , 2008 Share Posted 1 April , 2008 Herbert Walter Doughty was the Manchester Guardian's first staff photographer. he was particularly interested in "flying machines", and he coverered all the early Air Shows. It is thought that he was in the RFC, and taught aeriel photography. Does anyone have any records of this famous early photographer and the RFC? Thank you Anthony
Guest gsmlord Posted 4 June , 2008 Share Posted 4 June , 2008 Hi Anthony, my name is Lee Doughty, HW Doughty was my grand father. I'm currently researching our family tree with particular interest in my Grand Father, there will be an exhibition at the Lowry, Manchester later this year showing some of his work. What is your interest in him & what would you like to know about him? If you would like to get in-touch please forward your contact details to lee.doughty@phoneworld.co.uk. Regards Lee.
