centurion Posted 28 March , 2008 Share Posted 28 March , 2008 I came across references to Portugese pilots flying Atlantic anti sub patrols from the Azores. They were using Curtiss F flying boats. These were of 1913 vintage, two seat single engined and as far as I am aware had no wireless. These seems like an extremely hazardous proposition as an engine failure or even unexpectedly bad weather would be fatal. However I can find little about them. I believe that one of the aircraft is preserved in a Lisbon museum - anyone know any more?
