SDGW / Ancestry / Census LOOK UP

Hello Forum, could anyone assist in look-up(s) for the following chap I have recently become aware of.

I am trying to establish the usual military details, place and date of enlistment, etc, but also if he was resident in Barnard Castle before his enlistment or his eventual death in 1918.

His marriage date and place of marriage to Annie could also be useful.

I would appreciate any help here as I am trying to decide if he can be considered 'local' as regards to my research.

1901 Census shows John E Noton living with his parents at 46 Cleveland Road, Sunderland and Annie Pearson living with her parents at 9 Horse Market, Barnard Castle (the same address as CWGC).

Hello Steve and thanks for the speedy look up.

The spouse's name of Pearson may be of help here to determine if Annie Noton (nee Pearson) was a local girl to Barnard Castle. Census ?

If John married in 1916, my next step is to determine his date and place of enlistment I think.

Between 1916 and his death in 1918 doesn't leave much time for residence here, although he may well have lived here some time before his marriage.

Alternatively, Annie may have moved (returned) to Barnard Castle after his death. Early days yet.

Hopefully I can gather in a little more info from this post before arriving at any conclusion.

Regards. Jarvis.

Steve and Geoff, thanks for your help. I think I can now discount any 'local' link for John.
