Remembered Today:

11th Manchesters

Can anyone help with information about 11th Manchesters at Suvla? My wife and I are planning to walk as much of the Suvla bay battlefield as we can manage and I am trying to put together as much information as possible before we go at the end of May.

I'm struggling to find books about the 11th Manchesters and wondered if any exist other than the short history of the Chorley Pals. Either that or can anyone help with details from the unit war diary; particularly any maps.

Obviously I don't expect anything for nothing. I will gladly pay for any copying or postage charges and I am happy to take photos of the area/cemeteries/graves etc. if asked.

Many thanks

Garth

There's an unpublished battalion history and also ,of course, the war diaries. (I've got both, but you'd be better off contacting me off forum with your exact need from them - and be prepared to wait a little).

In the meantime, this guy's story might help... Fred Latham

Dave.

we've continued the 11th battalion history somewhat on the manchesters site as well ( with a lot of help from Dave himself!!)
