cr27ete Posted 12 March , 2008 Share Posted 12 March , 2008 Hi, I'm writing a short biographical note on Major General Edward Charles Ingouville-Williams who was killed on the Somme in July 1916. I have found much info or his military career from Boer War websites and the London Gazette but I can find very little on his life outside of the military. I know he changed his name by Deed Poll from "Williams" to "Ingouville-Williams" in 1902 and I have found a reference to his wife Florence. What I can not find is who she was, where she came from and whether they had any children. There are certainly "Ingouville-Williams" still around but they may be descended from the General's nephew Herbrand Williams who also changed his name to Ingouville-Williams in the 1930s Thanks for any help Grosnez
