Thanks oops can a mod move to soldiers please Assuming this is the Atlantic seaport, it seems very unlikely. It is only 6 days after the BEF crossed the Marne and fought on the Orc and the Morin heading roughly northwards towards the Chemin des Dames and the Aisne. truthergw Posted 10 March , 2008 Share Posted 10 March , 2008 I was trying to think of a scenario where a man would be at the front line and then back down as far as St Nazaire in much less than a fortnight. I assumed he was not a casualty. Unless he had a job that would send him back to St. Nazaire, I think he had not been to the front. The reason I asked was I discovered that there is a stack of St Nazaires all over France.
