Guest bowdom Posted 17 September , 2012 Share Posted 17 September , 2012 I hope someone can help me too. I have a CdG that I believe was my grandfathers. My mother and uncle, his daughter and son, tell me he never received this medal and yet I have it. No one else in the family was in WWI. I am sure it was given to me when I was very young as something to play with and it ended up in my keepsake box. It has the palm so it is an Army CdG, this much I have been able to figure out. The only other information I have is that Erwin Wehlitz was stationed at Orly Field in Paris and, according to my uncle, was "only a tire buster" for the aircraft as they returned from bombing missions.
