miss cairns

Hi,I'm looking for a american nurse who died in the great war either in 1917 or 1918. All I have to go on is the last name cairns. Any help appreicated.

there is a Nurse Mary Kay Cairns, Norwich, N.Y. listed as having died of disease here

She is listed in "Soldiers of the Great War" p359 (nothing but her name) and Norwich.

Ancestry has a record of her also:

Mary Cairns Nurse, Utica, Oneida County NY.

There does not appear to be a record of her in the American Battlefields and Monuments database which may mean her remains were repatriated for burial in the US or that she is buried outside an official ABM cemetery.

There is a recent reprint of the "Honor roll for Oneida County" which may well include Ms Cairns and might also have a photograph. There is a copy avaiable currently on AbeBooks.
