I have two death pennies with exact surnames on, sold to me as brothers. Can anyone be so kind to clarify if these are at all brothers who died in the Great War?

Both born in Nantwich Cheshire

Walter Purcell born 1889

Edwin Purcell born 1884...

Side note: I am really interested in some background information on this helmet. If anyone can help please reply to this topic too.

Thank you.

I'd say they were brothers only if you've got Edwin's year of birth wrong by 10 years ;)

This looks like the family in the 1901 census, living at 11 Albert Stret, Nantwich. Don't worry about the spelling, it looks like Purcell on the census image itself, Pursell is a transcription error.

William J Pursell 36

Mary Pursell 35

Walter Pursell 12

William Pursell 10

Lily Pursell 8

Edwin Pursell 6

Thomas Pursell 4

Rose A Pursell 2

Charles H Pursell 1

Ada Jones 18

Steve
