wyndham Posted 23 February , 2008 Share Posted 23 February , 2008 Some time ago I received great help from members of this forum in regard to my father's past service career especially in relation to this F2a. I am aware of what happened to 3 members of the crew but I should like to know what happened to the other 2. They were:- 211338 Cpl F Grant 'E' 213914 Pte W S Chase G/L I have read the account of the incident in Snowden's excellent book "The Story of a North Sea Air-base" but it is not clear what happened to these 2 members of the crew. I should be grateful if anyone can shed any further light.

wyndham Posted 24 February , 2008 Author Share Posted 24 February , 2008 Gareth Thank you for the information. My father was the late Jack Money so I am aware of what happened to him. Is it known where Cpl Smith was interned and what happened to him after that? The other occupants Captain Young died in the cockpit and the American Ensign, G T Roe also ended up as a POW. So all that remains is what happened to Pte Chase? I will make an effort to seek the book you mention. Wyndham

wyndham Posted 26 February , 2008 Author Share Posted 26 February , 2008 1. Andrew 2. Per ardua Thank you so much for this information; it tidies up my research into my father's RNAS/RAF service. Incidentally my father was interned at Dulmen and it would be interesting to know if Cpl Grant was also taken there. I will be visiting Kew, but due to the ongoing refurbishment work, I will give it a couple months for the dust to settle before doing so, probably in May. Thank you all again for your help. With kind regards, Wyndham
