Guest robwatt Posted 2 February , 2004 Posted 2 February , 2004 my father, bombadeir peter watt rga served 1909/1920 no31708 later rfa,no 283136, served ff1914 1915 then dardenels/mesopotamia, he joined 23coy rga @ gosport 31st dec 1910 after that i do not have any further info. can anyone tell me why his number would have changed, and would any one know which batteries serven in those 3 campains, as far as i can research his records were destroyed in ww2, yours in hope, rob.
Jock Bruce Posted 2 February , 2004 Posted 2 February , 2004 Rob, the most likely reason for him have two numbers is his having served in both RFA and RGA. These were considered different 'corps' by the Army - a man transfered from one corps to another received a new number. Jock
