Guest G4DQP Posted 20 February , 2008 Share Posted 20 February , 2008 Good evening every one, I am a member of the Royal Air Force Amateur Radio Society and as this April 1st, is the 90th anniversary of the formation of the Royal Air Force, the society is attempting to re-activate in a radio sense, very early RAF airfields. Bellasize is approximately 2 miles from where I live and I have elected to put an Amateur Radio Station from the immediate area of what originally a RFC airfield, which appears to have been transferred into the RAF in 1918. I can find very little information of RFC Bellasize on the internet, apparently it was formed in 1916 and disbanded in 1919, being reformed in the 1940's as a satellite of RAF Brough. If anyone could pass on to me and details of dates, corps, flights, aircraft from the 1918 period as applied to RFC Bellasize, I would be very grateful; as when we activate such war time airfields, there are many to whom we speak to, who ask about the airfield details. Many thanks in anticipation of your help G4DQP.
