Emmakhamilton Posted 11 February , 2008 Share Posted 11 February , 2008 Hi there Does anyone have any information on the Guards Divisional Train? From his MIC and army officer service records, I know that my great, great uncle, Walter Thomas Ganter, T4/036355, served whilst in the ranks from Dec 1915-May 917 with 436 company, Army Service Corps which was attached to the Guards Divisional Train. He's army officer service record also specifies that he served with 1 company, Guards Divisional Train. Cheers Emma
connaughtranger Posted 12 February , 2008 Share Posted 12 February , 2008 Hi Sorry there seems little information regarding ASC, even in their Great War history. 436 ASC was with the Guards Divisional Train and No 1 company was a HQ unit working with horses as opposed to mechanical transport. He would no doubt have been charged with ensuring supplies of ammunition and rations etc. WO95/1209 might give you more detail Regards Martin
