WWI German Red Cross

I do lots of re-enacting - WW2 - British, American and German, and am just embarking on WWI German Red Cross Nurse. I have found someone in America who has made me a uniform, but I can't find any source of information anywhere about what German nurses did during the Great War. Where were they stationed (how far back from front line)? And what duties did they have? Did they get involved in any medical procedures or did they just renew bandages, feed and comfort soldiers. I would like to set up a display but I'm not sure what kind of display to set up. Can anyone suggest any links or other resources? Many thanks.
