spike10764 Posted 29 January , 2004 Posted 29 January , 2004 I'm looking for a jpeg of the Troopship Princess Victoria, which took troops across the channel to the Western Front. It was quoted in a book as the ship that took 11th Border Regiment from Folkestone to Boulogne in November 1915. Any help or ideas where I might find a picture would be very welcome.... Regards Spike
Malcolm Posted 29 January , 2004 Posted 29 January , 2004 PRINCESS VICTORIA is listed as a Fleet Messanger from June 1915 formerly a Seaplane Patrol 1914 to June 1915. Pendant No was Y4.9, 1687 tons launched 1912. Aye Malcolm

Sailed on the Stranraer/Larne route for the Portpatrick & Wigtownshire Railways Joint Committee [previously (1872-1890) The Larne & Stranraer Steamboat Co.] Served as a troop ship from 1914-1919. Scrapped 1934 For a picture of the ship, you might try the archives for the local newspapers in either Stranraer or Larne Regards Michael D.R.

Lost in Tilloy Posted 17 July , 2005 Posted 17 July , 2005 Hi Spike THis may be the the wrong SS Princess Victiria, but there is a picture of a smallish steamship that looked as though it could carried a couple of hundred. I found it on the following link in Google: www.falmouth.packet.archives.dial.pipex.com/id85.htm Sorry if its the wrong one, but worth a try. Regards LIT
